Bring the question, not just the offer
Write down what led you to consider care. Is there a symptom to discuss, a diagnosis to understand or an offer to weigh?
- List your current medicines, with supplements alongside them.
- Note allergies, past treatment and questions about pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Take the wording of the offer, including the product name.
Let the person treating you explain what matters for the proposed care.
Ask what a test would answer
A national group of medical boards has written a suggested policy for online care. It says the doctor must complete needed tests, arrange testing elsewhere or refer you for that testing.
The medical boards’ suggested policyThis national advice does not itself make a state law.
Ask the practice which North Carolina rule applies to your visit.
Leave with a follow-up route
Ask when the plan will be reviewed. Find out who will answer a question between visits and how to send it.
